Patrick Corporation were experiencing challenges delivering bottom-line savings to the company and its customers. They sought an efficient, cost effective and accurate means of tracking and reporting on container movements to ensure shipments were correct. Ramp implemented a solution utilising Microsoft Azure to eliminate complexity and on premise infrastructure costs.
The forklifts at Patrick Ports were fitted out with 3G connected passive RFID infrastructure which allow container movements to be automatically tracked via passive RFID tags as they are moved by the forklifts. Patrick use this data to produce an accurate report of exactly which containers were loaded to a ship, allowing them to accurately invoice customers and manage their stock rotation. Using Microsoft Azure Web Apps and Azure SQL Database Ramp was able to provide an cost effective system that is “always online”.
Microsoft Azure SQL Database provides all the database features Ramp’s solution requires, including automated backups and continuously monitoring & sending automated alerts/updates on system performance, without exponential overhead costs.
Ramp RFID specialise in wireless asset, inventory, vehicle and personnel tracking solutions to help businesses in industries such as construction, mining, logistics and retail streamline their processes, reduce expenses, increase revenue and drive competitive advantage.
