Just 29% of Internet Users Trust E-Commerce Web Sites

Only 29% of US Internet users polled in early 2002 say they trust Web sites that sell products and services. Close to all users (95%) agree that it’s important for consumer sites to disclose all fees, and 93% say sites should disclose the methods by which they protect credit card information. Overall, 80% of users polled feel it’s important to be able to trust information on Web sites.
