METRICS: Internet-related Spam Messages Increase

Spam related to Internet businesses increased 4 percentage points from August to July, jumping more than any other category. Internet business messages account for 11 per cent of all spam. Health-related spam messages saw the greatest decline over the same period as instances of these messages decreased 3 percentage points. Health-related messages account for 9 per cent of all spam. Product-related spam showed no change in frequency from July to August, but still accounted for 20 per cent of all spam e-mails. SOURCE: Brightmail
