<p>SYDNEY, Australia — 19 January 2005 – Furthering its rapid expansion in the Asia Pacific region, Viewlocity has opened a new office in Singapore and appointed Chris Buckthorp as Director of Business Development, South East Asia. Taking over Buckthorp’s responsibilities will be Mark Gett, who joins Viewlocity as Presales Manager for Australia and New Zealand</p>
<p>Buckthorp will relocate from Australia, where he has held the role of Manager Supply Chain Solutions Asia Pacific, to Singapore at the end of January. He will launch the new operation with an immediate focus on business growth through new customers and supporting local implementations for existing global customers operating in the region.</p>
<p>“Chris has been central to the rapid growth of Viewlocity in the region over the past two years. His depth of understanding of supply chain management issues in Asia Pacific has helped us to gain a strong position in our regional market,” said Fadi Geha, Viewlocity’s Asia Pacific Managing Director.</p>
<p>Before joining Viewlocity, Buckthorp was a Principal Consultant within the PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting / IBM BCS Supply Chain Management practice. There he was involved in client engagements across the retail, high-tech, consumer product, industrial and public sector industry segments. Prior to that he has held operational and business development roles in third party logistics, retail and food services.</p>
<p>Mark Gett’s immediate focus will be supporting the Viewlocity team in driving new business from the logistics, manufacturing and retail markets. He will also focus on further strengthening ties with colleagues in Viewlocity’s U.S and European offices to maximise global knowledge of customer supply chain requirements.</p>
<p>Gett joins Viewlocity from Eqos Limited, a U.K. based independent software company specialising in developing web technologies for supplier relationship management, where he was responsible for global presales and partner management activities. He has over 15 years experience in presales roles for providers of application development software and has held senior sales development positions in companies such as Sterling Software and Texas Instruments Software.</p>
<p>Viewlocity sees the appointments of Buckthorp and Gett as a strong move in solidifying the company’s position in ANZ whilst expanding into a growing strategic market. Geha said, “2004 was a great year for us. With Mark now on board, we are in an ideal position to continue strengthening our presence in ANZ.</p>
<p>“We see Singapore and other parts of South East Asia as maturing supply chain technology markets that are ready for our Supply Chain Visibility and Control System applications.
