Roswel Pty. Ltd. Has expanded its distribution portfolio with the addition of Steeleye Technology® and LifeKeeper® for Australia and New Zealand. Managing Director Mr. Paul Wellens said “LifeKeeper is a leader with both Linux and Windows platforms, providing high availability clustering with ease of use and affordability. We felt it was an ideal choice to continue our focus in the security reseller channel”.

The SteelEye LifeKeeper family of software products and services offer unique scalability in terms of integrated solutions for data protection, high availability clustering, and wide-area disaster recovery. LifeKeeper enables enterprises of all sizes to ensure continuous uptime of business-critical systems. With 'out of the box' support for the widest range of applications, databases, and storage subsystems running on Intel-based Windows and Linux servers, SteelEye LifeKeeper ensures enterprise-grade reliability at a fraction of the cost and complexity of traditional solutions.

LifeKeeper supports the building of active/active and active/standby data and application high availability configurations of up to 32 nodes using x86, ia64, EM64T and Opteron-based servers from Dell, HP, IBM, SGI and others. LifeKeeper supports both shared nothing configurations using data replication and shared storage configurations which can be built using direct-attached shared SCSI, Fibre Channel SANs or Network Attached Storage devices. LifeKeeper clusters may be deployed either within a Local Area Network or across a WAN for disaster recovery.

In addition to the applications noted above, LifeKeeper for Linux delivers out-of-the-box application protection for MySQL, Apache, Sendmail, mySAP, Rational ClearCase, PostgreSQL, Informix, NFS and SAMBA. LifeKeeper for Windows delivers out-of-the-box application protection for Exchange, SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, IIS as well as file shares, IP addresses and LAN Manager. Through the use of the bundled Software Developer's Kit, any other application can be easily protected by LifeKeeper.

"We continue to respond to market demand by expanding the environments which are supported by LifeKeeper," said Bob Williamson, Vice President of Products for SteelEye Technology. "Linux has gained substantial traction within the enterprise data center in 2004, and we expect 2005 to be the year that 64-bit capable systems running the 2.6 kernel accelerates widespread adoption of Linux for business critical functions. We have also delivered product enhancements requested by our customers as they design and deploy high availability and disaster recovery protection for their Windows applications."

“Large corporates have often relied on enterprise clusters, Steeleye LifeKeeper makes clustering affordable to all forms of business” said Andy Fry, Senior Steeleye Consultant for Roswel, “If you have ever had an exchange server crash, you will be familiar with how expensive it is to get your business back online. With LifeKeeper you are up and running within minutes and repairing the server while your business continues”
