Avalanche Announces AVG Rescue CD to Restore Computers Infected by Viruses and Malicious Code

<p>Avalanche Technology Group, the Australian/New Zealand distributor of AVG security software, today introduced AVG Rescue CD, a new offering for IT professionals designed to remove and repair damage caused by viruses, spyware and other malicious programs on computers running Windows XP and Windows 2003 Server. The AVG Rescue CD, based on AVG Anti-Malware 7.5, allows for operating system recovery and data repair in the event that the original operating system cannot be loaded in the normal way, especially where this has occurred through malware activity.</p>
<p>Important features of AVG Rescue CD include the ability to update the malware definitions database on the fly. AVG Rescue CD sets itself apart from competing products by providing more complete protection against viruses and spyware, and extensive administration and recovery tools with the ability to update definition files using a hard drive or an external USB memory device.</p>
<p>“AVG Rescue CD is an useful tool for IT pros enabling them to efficiently remove dangerous software from exploited PCs with the same level of confidence they enjoy with other AVG products,” said Larry Bridwell, Global Security Strategist for AVG. “IT pros will also be able to take advantage of comprehensive administrative tools and features to make them more productive.”</p>
<p>Running on MS Windows PE, AVG Rescue CD includes Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware and a set of administration tools and utilities. It also features a file manager, a Windows registry editor, a scan disk tool for testing hard drive integrity, a detailed IP Config tool, and more.</p>

The price of AVG Rescue CD is A$210.95 for a one year license. Existing customers using any commercial AVG product can obtain AVG Rescue CD for a discounted price of A$139.95.</p>
