FalconStor Passes Oracle Environment Test for Oracle® Storage Compatibility Program

IPStor is Validated as Compatible With Oracle Databases

Sydney, Australia – August 11, 2005 - FalconStor Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: FALC), a leading developer of network storage software solutions, today announced that its IPStor® Enterprise Edition software has successfully completed validation testing with Oracle® Database environments under the Oracle Storage Compatibility Program (OSCP). FalconStor is a member of the Oracle® PartnerNetwork.

The OSCP is a comprehensive program designed to foster Oracle-compatible solutions, and inclusion in OSCP for FalconStor was accomplished by successfully completing a comprehensive and rigorous Oracle-supplied test suite for IPStor software, including features such as Oracle-specific snapshots agents, remote replication, and mirroring for Oracle Databases.

“FalconStor is committed to working continually with Oracle to provide value to our mutual customers by enhancing the productivity and availability of Oracle Databases,” said John Lallier, vice president of technology for FalconStor. “Customers running Oracle Databases with IPStor software will find it to be a powerful combination for their business-critical operations that demand enterprise-quality performance, availability and data protection.”

IPStor software provides Oracle applications a comprehensive set of data management and storage services across diverse OS platforms. Oracle applications can immediately take advantage of IPStor software’s Snapshot Agent for Oracle, Zero-Impact Backup Enabler, TimeMark®/TimeView®, and fast remote data synchronisation/replication options to help protect their live data against hardware failures, software failures, virus attacks, and human errors.

These features are integrated with Oracle Database applications for: fast on-line backup of live data with zero-impact by eliminating the need to keep the Oracle database in ‘backup’ mode for an extensive amount of time; backup, snapshot, and replication with full transactional integrity and point-in-time consistency, resulting in reduction of the time to recover lost data; instant roll-back of the database to a known, good point-in-time, using low-cost disks to journal changes; and a remote replication feature set designed specifically to facilitate disaster recovery.

Oracle created the Oracle Storage Compatibility Program to assist third parties in determining Oracle Database compatibility. The OSCP facilitates the development of storage solutions for Oracle Database. Through OSCP technical and marketing programs, members receive the tools and resources they need to build Oracle Database-compatible storage solutions for Oracle customers.
