Symantec and VERITAS Complete Merger

<p>This morning Symantec and VERITAS officially finalised their merger creating a new Symantec that will deliver information security and availability solutions across all platforms and to customers of all sizes.</p>

In the new Symantec organisation, David Sykes has been appointed vice president of the Pacific region, Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands; John Donovan is channels director for the expanded Asia Pacific and Japan geography.</p>

Symantec and VERITAS Complete Merger
CUPERTINO, Calif. - July 6, 2005 - Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC) and VERITAS Software Corp. today announced the completion of their merger following approvals by both companies’ stockholders. The transaction was finalized on Saturday, July 2, 2005. As a result of the merger, shares of VERITAS stock were converted into the right to receive shares of Symantec stock, and VERITAS shares will no longer be traded.</p>
