Viewlocity previews customer-driven supply chain evolution at Smart

Dell, HP and Nissan shape future of supply chain with Viewlocity

Sydney, Australia, 1 June, 2005 – Viewlocity, Inc. has announced plans to release a significant upgrade to its flagship supply chain event management solutions suite in September this year.

The upgrade will be previewed at The Smart Supply Chain Technology Show in Sydney today and tomorrow.

Viewlocity’s upcoming release responds to in-depth customer discussion undertaken during product improvement planning phases. Dell, HP and Nissan were amongst the global supply chain leaders involved in this period of intense consultation.

Version 5.0 of Control Tower Platform (CTP) will increase operational efficiency of supply chains. It will provide order sourcing, promising and recovery capabilities as well as advanced service management and advanced analytical processing.

“At the moment most companies focus on doing one or two things very well – their core competencies – but rely on partners for other critical business functions, and existing software solutions simply aren’t designed for this kind of environment,” commented Fadi Geha, Viewlocity’s Asia Pacific Managing Director.

“This is a real headache for companies trying to control their extended supply chain who have outsourced parts of non-core activity to third parties such as service providers, repair organisations or manufacturers.

“What they need is a business tool that allows the core company to maintain control over this distributed supply network and manage suppliers without taking back non-core activity.”

The end result for companies using Viewlocity’s upgraded CTP is that they will be able to monitor and adapt to changing supply chain conditions with increased speed, with minimal impact across distributed supply networks and multi-party service processes.

The whole supply chain network will fall under a closed loop system that defines and monitors the ideal supply process. Critically, it senses and responds to changes in the operation, finally reporting on key performance indicators related to the process.

“Version 5.0 of CTP allows companies to monitor and control production and delivery activity, altering operations as circumstances dictate to meet customer requirements,” concluded Geha. “Viewlocity’s solution evolution mirrors and surpasses the needs of an increasingly scrutinised distributed supply chain environment.”
