New Version Furthers Integration with Embarcadero DT/Studio® and Support for Microsoft® Task Manager® and SQL Server® Data Transformation Services

Melbourne, Australia – 24 May, 2005 – Embarcadero® Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:EMBT), a leading provider of data lifecycle management solutions, today announced expanded data integration support and job control functionality with the general availability of Embarcadero Job Scheduler 3.3. This latest version includes support for the File Transfer Protocol (FTP) standard, creating a secure setting for file transfer, tighter integration with DT/Studio, and enhanced job and job chain control. Additionally, Job Scheduler furthers its role as a centralised job management platform with import support for Microsoft Task Manager and SQL Server Data Transformation Services (DTS).

“Today’s companies are challenged with meeting the demands of increased capacity while requiring that more and more databases and operating systems leverage the same or fewer resources,” said Robin Schumacher, vice president of product management at Embarcadero Technologies. “The only way to keep up is to work efficiently by creating standard operating procedures and automating database maintenance and other time-consuming tasks by scheduling those jobs for off-peak hours. Job Scheduler’s new support for automating ETL, enhanced job and job chain control, and automatic report generation means companies can free up time to focus on more important tasks and keep their mission critical applications up and running.”

Designed with database, data warehouse and system administrators in mind, Embarcadero Job Scheduler automates the execution of OS and database maintenance jobs, as well as other routine tasks including nightly data loads or batch processing. This highly reliable scheduling solution helps customers boost productivity and significantly lower operating costs. Job Scheduler seamlessly integrates with other Embarcadero products including DBArtisan®, Rapid SQL®, Embarcadero Change Manager, and DT/Studio®.

Key new features of Embarcadero Job Scheduler 3.3 include:

• FTP support and enhanced DT/Studio integration to easily automate ETL jobs to run regularly and securely, freeing database, data warehouse and system administrators to focus on more critical tasks

• Easy-to-use wizards for importing Microsoft Task Scheduler and SQL Server DTS packages creating a single job management system for consolidating jobs across a variety of platforms

• Fine grained controls including stop, restart from the point of failure, edit, or job run confirmation, allowing users to prevent problems or easily correct those that do happen

• Automatic HTML report generation allowing users to report on job configuration, deployments and outcomes per desired frequency to create an up-to-date job status portal
