IQ Group wins iAward for its innovative iqBoard Platform

The IQ Group today announced it was the recipient of the Victorian Merit iAward for its iqBoard platform. The iqBoard solution is designed to improve the communications and governance for Board members from any enterprise or industry sector. The merit award is in recognition of its achievements in the Security category. The iAwards is targeted at ‘Australia’s best’ and honours the outstanding achievements of those exceptional home-grown innovators who have made exemplary contributions to the ICT industry over the past 12 months.

iqBoard is a streamlined meeting management and highly secure board pack distribution platform and its capabilities entirely replace traditional paper-based Board documentation for Board and sub-committee members.

The iqBoard solution provides each Board Member with access to their Board Packs at the same time, no matter where they are and courtesy of the Microsoft SharePoint and iPad platforms, they are immediately able to review the information, and collaborate further if they need to prior to a meeting. The iPad full screen means that each and every form can be read in full and templates and tasks can be completed in a highly usable format.

The issues of security and data privacy have been addressed with each iPad being distributed to Board members implementing multiple layers of authentication and encryption. Additionally configurable timeouts and a remotely-enabled central device administration of the solution offers a significant security improvement over traditional hard copy distribution systems.

The iqBoard offering is now used by over two hundred Board Members across the country.

IQ Group’s CEO, Graham Sammells commented on the announcement: “We are thrilled to be the Victorian Merit Recipient winner of the Security Application iAward and we remain committed to our approach to innovation. To know that an entirely new platform and security application solution we have developed here in Australia has inspired the judging panel is an honour.”

Development of IQ Group’s iqBoard platform was the result of an initial response to the superannuation industry’s need to improve the way its Trustees and Board Members communicated on Board issues, in a more modern and secure environment.

“iqBoard is an extremely cost-effective streamlining of Board communications, producing immediate collaboration, productivity, data privacy and security improvements for any organisation from any industry sector. With over 200 Board members across all industry sectors now relying on iqBoard we have certainly developed a new breed of secure Board communications,” Sammells outlined.

Warning: Tips for secure mobile holiday shopping

I’m dating myself, but I remember when holiday shopping involved pouring through ads in the Sunday paper, placing actual phone calls from tethered land lines to research product stock and availability, and actually driving places to pick things up. Now, holiday shoppers can do all of that from a smartphone or tablet in a few seconds, but there are some security pitfalls to be aware of.
