Digital Realty announces next generation Turn-Key FlexSM solution

New Turn-Key Flex solution offers customers greater flexibility with economies of scale – meets growing demand by enterprise for outsourced data centre solutions

SYDNEY – June 6, 2012 – Digital Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE: DLR), a leading global provider of data centre solutions, announced today the launch of its next generation Turn-Key FlexSM solution, a highly flexible data centre solution that enables customers to select from a catalogue of components during the design and construction process to meet their unique data centre technical and performance specifications.

“Our traditional Turn-Key Datacenters® design has been evolving over the years to meet customer requirements around efficiency, flexibility and reliability. With the launch of our next generation Turn-Key Flex solution, we are able to provide customers with even more options, giving them a high degree of control over how their data centre is configured during the design and construction phases,” said Jim Smith, Chief Technology Officer for Digital Realty. “We have found this to be particularly important for enterprise customers who have traditionally built their own data centres and are now migrating towards an outsourced solution with a proven data centre provider.”

“Our data centre experts have designed, developed and currently manage over 3.6 million square feet of enterprise-quality data centre space throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia Pacific, with over 500,000 square feet of additional, fully improved data centre space under construction,” added Michael F. Foust, Chief Executive Officer of Digital Realty. “Our team’s experience goes into every data centre we build and has ultimately resulted in this next generation Turn-Key Flex solution. Whether you are a regionally focused organisation or a multinational corporation, we believe that our flexible, customer-driven design approach provides an ideal solution that can meet even the most complex, sophisticated specification.”

“By optimising our global supply chain and modular design approach, Digital Realty’s Turn-Key Flex solution provides the optimum level and balance of customisation, time to deliver, and cost that our customers are telling us they need,” said Steve Kundich, Vice President, Design & Construction for Digital Realty. “”During the design phase, we can offer customers a wide variety of options ranging from N+1, 2N and 2N+1 configurations for their electrical systems to airside or waterside cooling systems with various forms of economisations based on the climate zone. On a kilowatt basis, our Turn-Key Flex solution offers IT capacity ranging from 280 kW to multiples of 1125 kW in the U.S. and from 360 kW to multiples of 1440 kW in Europe and Asia Pacific.”
