Stolen and sensitive US military equipment, including body armor, night vision goggles and gear to protect against nuclear or biochemical warfare, are being sold on Craigslist and eBay, a report says.

A Massachusetts teenager has pleaded guilty in federal court to hacking into the networks of Internet and telephone service providers, stealing someone's personal information and posting it online, according to a statement from Michael Sullivan, U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts.

The US Air Force is notifying more than 33,000 officers that their personal data has been breached by a malicious hacker, the Air Force said Friday. The hacker used a legitimate user's ID and password to access personal information on the officers contained in the Assignment Management System (AMS), an online program used for assignment preferences and career management, the Air Force said. That data included career information, birth dates and Social Security numbers.

Five online security software and service providers have formed the Anti-Fraud Alliance to help e-commerce and financial services firms fight online fraudulent activities such as phishing and identity theft.

The Open Source Vulnerability Database (OSVDB), which was developed to catalog and describe the Internet's security vulnerabilities, has opened for public use.
