Security and Cloud vendor adjusts solution portfolio to meet the demands of the post PC era

Symantec Symposium was recently held in Sydney, where Australia managing director, Brenton Smith, spoke about how Symantec is undergoing a transformation to better to succeed in the post-PC era.

Symantec Pacific Region technology director, Sean Kopelke, also spoke about the company’s efforts in the areas of user productivity and protection, information security and information management.

“Information is at the centre of everything we do at Symantec, and we are focused on enabling people, businesses and countries to protect and manage their digital information so they can focus their time and energy achieving their aspirations,” he said.

Symantec’s solution portfolio is also evolving around the three major themes of intelligence, efficiency, and across everything.

Numbers game

Kopelke also shared some statistics in what he company typically deals with in one minute, such as processing 20 million security logs and 700,000 emails.

Five million pieces of data are also leveraged to compute vertex on 100 million domains and billions of files, as well as intelligence from 100 million security customers.

In that same minute, Kopelke said 50 per cent of the world’s information is backed-up by Symantec, and customers in 120 countries are protected.
