NSW DSTA adds risk management software

Integration with ERP system a requirement

The NSW government department tasked with the state’s data centre reform program, the Department of Services Technology and Administration, has the green light to procure a software package to support internal audit and corporate risk management.

DSTA requires an enterprise risk management package for five applications - risk management, audit, compliance, incident management and claims management. The modules must also integrate with each other.

Basic requirements include workflow management and reporting; the ability to complete tasks by e-mail or Web services; bespoke reporting forms; a built-in report writer; and integration with SAP.

The NSW data centre reform program started in November last year and requests for suppliers closed in January.

Also in January, the DSTA appointed Andrew Gavrielatos to the position of acting CIO while it seeks a replacement for former CIO, Emmanuel Rodriguez, who exited the role late last year.

The DSTA is a government agency with a broad portfolio, including fair trading, government procurement, IT, public works and industrial relations. It was previously known as the Department of Commerce.

Risk management at the DSTA is performed at three levels: corporate, division and business unit objectives; major projects; and business as usual processes.

The relevant business units include legal and governance, corporate services and flagship corporate teams.

Eventually all DSTA divisions will use the risk management software.
