Seccom Global partners with Secunia, world leader in vulnerability intelligence

 • 08 December, 2009 14:15

Sydney, December 8. Seccom Global, one of Australia’s fastest growing information security providers (MSSPs), announced today a partnership agreement with Secunia, world-leading Vulnerability Intelligence (VI) provider and distributor.

Seccom, as the first partner in APAC, will offer Secunia's full range of products as an MSSP and VAR with representation across the region. According to analyst company Frost & Sullivan, Copenhagen based Secunia found more vulnerabilities than any other organisation in 2008, effectively making them the world’s most active and capable VI research company, and an important contributor to vulnerability research market.

“Secunia's position as a market leader within VI, their relentless dedication to bring community initiatives like the Secunia PSI to every desktop in the world, and their influence in leading global organisations like OTA, CVE, and FIRST, means we're able to strengthen our offerings to heighten our market appeal,” said Gavin Matthews, CIO of Seccom.

He added: “The true benefits of this partnership will fall to our customers, who will be able to choose a single vendor for their information security services needs. This will offer significant cost, and management reduction opportunities in addition to peace of mind through the market's best solutions.”

Secunia's VI solutions are known as Enterprise Vulnerability Manager (EVM) and Vulnerability Intelligence Feed (VIF), which relay vulnerability advisories from Secunia's database of over 30,000 verified advisories to match exactly the customer organisation's infrastructure and software assets. Combined with the award-winning Corporate Software Inspector (CSI), these solutions will allow an IT manager to quickly scan, assess and mitigate any, known software vulnerability. These solutions are used across the globe by thousands of customers, many of them Global 2000, and Fortune 500 companies.

Secunia's International Partner Manager, Reidar Balstad, said: “When we reviewed potential MSSPs in the APAC market space, our attention quickly focused on Seccom Global. In September 2009's APAC MSSP marketscope analysis, they received Gartner’s highest rating - strong positive. This was based on their reach, innovative solutions and flexible support offerings, and when coupled with the fact that Seccom Global is outshining the likes of BT, Orange, Symantec, IBM, Tata, Unisys and Verisign in terms of delivery, made this a natural choice for a MSSP to bring our innovative, world leading solutions to the APAC market.”

Among many others, Microsoft refers to Secunia as a leading independent source of VI and, acknowledges it as a source that companies can rely on: "An organisation must substantiate information and data through independent analysis and ratings, such as the Secunia Vulnerability Study by Secunia, a leading independent source of vulnerability intelligence"

About Secunia
Secunia, based in Copenhagen, Denmark, was established in 2002, and is the world-leading provider of Vulnerability Intelligence and Vulnerability Management tools. In 2005 Secunia was awarded by Connect Denmark as one of the top three Danish start-ups in the period 2000-2005, in competition with more than 800 other companies.

Secunia is privately held, financially profitable, and has gone from being a very successful start-up company to become an established world-leading IT-security company. Over the years Secunia’s organic growth has been higher than market average, and the company is profitable with no bearing debt. It's customer base counts thousands of customers, many of them Global 2000 and Fortune 500 companies. Secunia holds a market leader position in the EMEA, and is now expanding it's reach with strategic partnerships across the globe.
