Imperva announces strong Asia Pacific growth

 • 19 October, 2009 10:24

SYDNEY, October 19.— Imperva, the data security leader, has set new benchmarks for company growth for the third quarter of 2009 – and the Asia Pacific region has made a significant contribution.

The Q3 2009 performance was one of Imperva’s best, recording 114 per cent growth in APAC over the same period last year. During the year, Imperva acquired 94 new enterprise customers globally, including 21 new Asia Pacific customers in Q3 2009.

“Imperva’s third quarter performance is the clearest evidence that companies see SecureSphere as a strategic part of data security,” said Stree Naidu, Vice President Asia Pacific. “Our customers recognise the unparalleled capability SecureSphere brings to keeping data safe from insiders and external threats.”

He added: “The company’s performance across Asia Pacific reflects Imperva’s global success. Expansion in this region is set to accelerate following a recent build-up in senior management, sales and support staff.”

The surge in Asia Pacific sales follows Mr Naidu’s own appointment in August, that of Ms Grenadine Lau as Senior Manager Channels, Marketing & Operations – Asia Pacific, and other senior appointments including that of Kane Lightowler as Regional Sales Director Australia and New Zealand.

“Protecting business applications, ensuring data security and adhering to PCI compliance are key for organisations in the Pacific region, said Lightowler. “We believe strongly that only Imperva delivers cutting-edge technology that reports full audit accountability and separation of duties which meet regulatory compliance and organisations’ security needs.”

Internationally Imperva strengthened its executive team with the addition of Daniel Alon, Vice President of Product Management, and Yaniv Shaya, Vice President of Engineering.

”Imperva's deep understanding of today's cyber crime threats coupled with its focus on delivering data security solutions that are scalable and affordable to address every customer unique needs, makes it a distinguished selection for customers in the market,” said Mr Alon.
Mr Shaya said: “It's a great opportunity to be leading Imperva’s world-class development team, working with a revolutionary technology, and helping to build a fast-growing company."

Other highlights from the quarter:
• Strong international performance: Europe experienced 88 per cent growth
• Imperva’s 94 new customers represent nearly 50 per cent growth over last year
• Imperva, with the Ponemon Institute, released a watershed study on the state of PCI.
