Brother launches new MFC range

First to market with 30ppm printing, Full Duplex capabilities and built-in environmental initiatives.
 • 11 August, 2009 14:02

SYDNEY, 1st July 2009 - Brother International has today announced the launch of two new Multi-Function Centres® (MFC) for professional use, the MFC-8880DN and MFC-8890DW. Designed to increase productivity whilst keeping running costs low, the new units deliver high quality business documents quickly, offer exceptional connectivity, and feature full duplex capability for printing, copying, scanning and faxing.

A market leader and innovator for MFCs, Brother is once again first to market with features including 30 page-per-minute (ppm) printing and duplex print, copy, scan and fax to enhance business processes.

Brother business machines deliver the ideal combination of performance features and a great overall value. Both new MFCs offer more functionality and capability than any other competitor, yet retail at the same price.

These MFCs reinforce Brother’s commitment to the environment and help lower overall operating costs for businesses. Both MFCs are Energy Star compliant, have a toner save mode to extend toner life and the option of high-yield cartridges. Another signature feature is separate toner and drum units, to save throwing both away when one runs out. As each drum can use 3 toners, this function works to keep waste to a minimum.

According to Heidi Webster, Marketing Manager for Brand and IT & Office Products, “These models are ideal for Small to Medium sized offices or workgroups within large organizations, because they combine high performance with cost-efficiency and built-in environmental initiatives.”

“Features including Scan to Network, Scan to Security PDF and Secure Function Lock 2.0 help save the environment, lower administration costs and ensure document security,” she added.

Scan to Network and Scan to Security PDF allows users to scan directly to a shared network drive or create password protected PDF files. Once scanned, the documents can be easily accessed by anyone with access to the LAN. The Secure Function Lock 2.0 feature restricts page printing per user to save toner and paper.

Be Green

Use energy efficient equipment.
Invest in office equipment that is Energy Star-certified to ensure that it meets the Department of Energy's green standards. Both these new MFCs are Energy Star compliant and are fast, robust machines that are also cost-effective. According to the Energy Star program, certain benefits can mean lower energy bills while even prolonging the life of an appliance. Visit for more details.

Save paper and space by using two-sided printing.
Use all-in-one devices that offer automatic duplex (two-sided) printing, copying, scanning and faxing like the Brother’s new MFC-8880DN and MFC-8890DW. The duplex feature will reduce your paper costs, your necessary storage space (by using less paper for the same amount of documents), contributing to a greener future for Australia.

Features include:

The MFC – 8880DN features 30ppm print/cop, duplex print, duplex scan, duplex copy, 64Mb memory, 5 line LCD, USB 2.0,Ethernet and Par connectivity, scan to FTP, Secure Function Lock 2.0, IFAX, Scan to Email, LDAP, CIFS, Customer Scan Profile, and fax to Server.

MFC – 8889DW includes all the features of the MFC-8880DN as well as wireless networking.

The MFC-8880DN RRP $999.
The MFC-8890DW RRP $1,099.
