Sydney, 28 July 2009 - Ajoy Ghosh, Logica’s Australian Security Executive, has been honoured in the Senior IT Security Professional category for 2009 by (ISC)²®, the not-for-profit global leader in educating and certifying information security professionals. Ghosh was one of just 13 professionals and the only Australian honoured in this category as part of the organisation’s third annual Asia-Pacific Information Security Leadership Achievements program, staged at a gala dinner in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia earlier this month.

Ghosh received his award based on his contributions to developing computer forensics as a discipline in Australia and for developing and teaching his post-graduate American Bar Association accredited law course aimed at educating investigators, lawyers and the judiciary in this area.

Ghosh has more than 17 years of experience in information security and originally joined Logica two years ago. He has a wealth of experience, with specialist expertise in IT governance and risk management, litigation support and security management of outsourced functions.

Author of Standards Australia’s handbook, 171 Guidelines for the Management of IT Evidence, Ghosh is best known for his expert testimony and litigation coaching. He is accredited by the Defence Signals Directorate as an iRAP information security assessor and is also a Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP®).

The honourees in the Senior IT Security Professional category are recognised for significantly contributing to the enhancement of the IT security workforce by demonstrating a leadership role in an IT security workforce improvement initiative, program or project. Candidates typically have at least ten years of work experience, seven of which are directly related to IT security.

“The annual ISLA program highlights the essential role IT security professionals play in today’s technology-driven world,” said W. Hord Tipton, CISSP-ISSEP, CAP, CISA, Executive Director, (ISC)². I congratulate Ajoy Ghosh on his achievement and his dedication to improving the IT security workforce in the region.”
